Feet over my head. My dreams were soaring for the moon. Anything could happen here. I could fall in love. Maybe I already had.
Tal Bauer writes some of the most gorgeous stories I’ve ever read and I’ll be filing this book amongst them. A beach resort in paradise and a sprawling ranch in the heart of Texas are the perfect settings for Tal Bauer’s beautiful writing. He brought these locales and characters to life with such clarity, it was like you were there beside them. Wyatt and Noël come from very different worlds, Wyatt’s entire life is centered around his family and their ranch and Noël’s life is glitz and glamour, catering to the whims of the A-list celebrities he represents back in NY. When their paths cross on their way to an exclusive resort in Cancun, they quickly become inseparable and spend six amazing days falling for one another in paradise. However, once they’re faced with their lives back in the real world, is there any chance that what they found on the white sand beaches can carry over to reality?
Lord, I was gone for this man. Pure gone, and you couldn’t have beaten my soul back into my body with a baseball bat, or nailed my heart down when it started to run.
Wyatt was such a swoon-worthy hero. His backstory was heartbreaking and seeing how much he carried on his shoulders when it came to his family and his ranch was admirable. He was selfless to a fault and couldn’t resist a soul in need. This is how he found himself saving Noël from himself at an airport bar as Noël tried drowning his sorrows in copious amounts of alcohol. Where everyone else just shot pitying glances Noël’s way, Wyatt stepped in and turned out to be the kindness that Noël needed when he was at his lowest point. Noël was so lost and Wyatt with his southern charm and patience kept showing up for him, Noël’s heart really never stood a chance. The chapters in Mexico were stunning, the imagery and the romance took my breath away. But then it ripped my heart out when real life came for them. The angst came early in this one and hit hard but seeing them work their way back together and figuring out how to mend their hearts and how to merge their lives was breathtaking. These men loved with their whole hearts and souls, the road was not always easy but with a love that deep, there really was only one way things could work out for them. It was beautiful and romantic and no words I can come up with will ever do it justice. If you’re looking to swoon and fall irrevocably in love with these layered and perfectly flawed characters, you aren’t going to want to miss this one!
My sweet, sweet cowboy, who was shy and didn’t like selfies and said goodnight to his horse, and who made the lives of everyone he touched remarkably and extraordinarily better. My dearest, darling Wyatt. The man of my dreams.
