The Geek Who Saved Christmas by Annabeth Albert

He was a catch. He might not know it yet, but hell if I was going to tell him before I finished rescuing his holiday.

Gideon Holiday is known throughout his neighborhood as being the first to lend a hand to a neighbor in need and he’s also known for his enthusiasm for holiday decorating. Much to Gideon’s chagrin, his neighbor, Paul Frost, has never been uninterested in accepting help from Gideon or holiday decorating. But when Paul’s younger brother informs him he plans to visit for Christmas, Paul is in desperate need of a holiday miracle to get his home suitably decorated in time. It’s a good thing Gideon’s never met a to-do list that he didn’t want to conquer. If he hopes to give his brother the holiday that he’s dreaming of, Paul has no choice but to accept Gideon’s help. Their to-do list is a mile long but falling into bed together wasn’t on it – but when happens will it end up turning into something that could last once the holidays are over?

His enthusiasm was maybe the best thing about him, and I hoped he never changed one bossy trait. The world needed more Gideon. And maybe I did too.

I don’t think this book could have been any sweeter if it tried. I just love reading holiday romances, they turn me into a total sap. I’m a total sucker for a grumpy/sunshine book and Paul and Gideon did not disappoint. Gideon was the cutest with his little bowties and zest for making spreadsheets. It was so fun seeing Paul thaw toward him, it didn’t take long for him to be thoroughly charmed by Gideon. Paul had his reasons for not wanting to celebrate the holidays but when it came to his baby brother, he would stop at nothing to make everything perfect. Which worked out well for Gideon who loved taking charge and feeling like he was needed. Usually, though, Gideon’s bossiness was too much for people but for Paul, it worked perfectly. I loved their dynamic, they complemented each other so well.

This story was so heartwarming, I smiled, I laughed, and I had tears in my eyes several times because it was just so sweet. Between Gideon and Paul falling for one another and everything with Paul’s brother, it gave me all the feels. But for as sweet and wholesome as this story was, it was also super hot! Paul and Gideon had amazing chemistry in and out of the bedroom. Honestly, this story had everything I wanted in a holiday romance, I’m really glad I picked it up!

He deserved someone watching out for him, someone to leave a light on, and if he’d let it be me, well, I liked that. It also terrified me. But not enough to dampen how much I wanted to be someone for him.
