Sunshine for Sale by Cora Rose and Nicole Dykes

I don’t think men are hot. They’re not. Unless they are this guy, with his wide shoulders and thick thighs and that smile.

Sunshine.

He’s pure fucking sunshine.

Well, this book was adorable. I was looking for a low-angst, light read and this book was perfect for that. I dare you to read it and not immediately fall in love with Jimbob! He was just precious. Sunshine personified. Always happy and kind, he’s an animal lover and was the sweetest guy. The poor guy couldn’t understand why Braxton seemed to be the only person in town who didn’t like him. But bless his big heart, Jimbob didn’t let Braxton’s surliness deter him. His persistence in trying to befriend Braxton was so cute and lucky for him, it paid off!

It seems he’s infected me with his light. Maybe that’s why I’ve been lurking around him, a shadow trying to find the brightness, trying to find a way into the warmth.

Braxton was an epic grump. He tried so hard to hate Jimbob but he’s only human and can’t resist the pull of all that sunshine for very long. The first chapter we got from his POV cracked me up. He’s so snarky and working hard to put on this aloof persona but he’s a big softy underneath it all. As you get to know him, you understand why he’s so guarded but I loved seeing him let that guard down little by little the more time he spent with Jimbob. And Jimbob was just pleased as punch that this guy kept coming around to spend time with him. They were complete opposites but strangely they worked. Braxton just wanted someplace to belong and Jimbob just wanted someone to share a life with.

He’s a thief. He’s stolen something from me. My breath, my heart, my sanity.

As I mentioned earlier, there’s little to no angst here. The story is fast-paced and wraps up pretty quickly with a neat little bow. I didn’t mind that, though, the ending was super sweet and fit well with the rest of the story. It seemed like there was a set up for at least one more book in this new series and if I’m right, I look forward to returning to this small Kansas town!

He’s my ray of sunshine, my happiness. My all.
