Jamie is wrong for me in so many ways. Too young. Too charming. Too beautiful.
But a crush is harmless, right?
Tim lost his husband 3 years ago and in the time since has put all his energy into raising their young daughter alone. He’d only recently considered dating again when Jamie started working at the school Tim teaches at. Jamie is much too young and much too beautiful for Tim to be interested in. But their paths keep crossing at work and their connection is too strong to ignore. Jamie’s been burned by an older man before but Tim is nothing like his ex and he can’t help himself from wanting to explore this thing between them. He had planned on leaving and traveling at the end of the year but the further he falls for Tim, the harder that idea becomes but when a secret from the past emerges it may be his only option.
This is not just us having some short-term fun, as much as I’ve wanted to cling to that idea.
This is us falling in love.
I’m not going to say too much about this one because honestly the less you know going in, the better! It was a really lovely story with a whopper of a twist. I love single dad romances and age gap romances so this was right up my alley. There may have been 12ish years between Tim and Jamie but they were so perfect together. Jamie was a self-described old soul and was very mature for his age. I loved the flirty banter between these two and seeing them fall in love was very swoonworthy. They had incredible chemistry and a good deal of spice!
“This is our story, Jamie,” he says.
Then his lips are on mine, and my mind is wiped free of all the insecurities and doubts. Tim is right. This is about us, no one else. The story of Tim and Jamie.
As things go along and they’re so in love, you’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop and oh boy does it ever drop! Buckle in for one heck of a rollercoaster ride in the later parts of this story. I wish I could say more because I have so many thoughts but they’re all spoilers. Just hang on tight and I promise you’ll make it out the other side ok! And download the bonus epilogue at the end, it’s an interesting perspective and a little glimpse further into the future.
We may only be two tiny dots in the scale of the cosmos, small and insignificant in the vastness of space and time.
But we are incredibly significant to each other.
And that is more than enough for me.
