System Overload by Saxon James

It’s just him.

And the way he doesn’t even realize he’s my whole world.

Will has been secretly in love with his best friend, Molly’s dad for years but never dared to go there out of respect for Molly. Ok, so he’s not counting that one time they accidentally hooked up during a weak moment. But now that Molly’s moving out of the country and has convinced Will to move into Keller’s spare room while he saves up for his own place, these feelings Will’s always had are only getting stronger. Keller finds Will attractive but his son has always come first so he never dreamed of acting on the attraction. He is ready to find a person to settle down with, though. The more time he spends with Will, the more he thinks Will could be that person. But will finding happiness with Will cost Keller his relationship with his son?

“So you don’t want me to be your Daddy?”

Will smirks. “I don’t think I used those words.”

I can understand where Will was coming from with his feelings for Keller. I read the Accidental Love series before I read DMC so my first introduction to Keller was in Not Dating Material and I fell in love with him in his brief scenes in that one. He seemed like such a great guy and was an amazing father to Molly, facts that were further confirmed when he was introduced a few books back in the DMC series. My heart was completely his after reading the prologue in this book.

I was less sure what to think of Will going in, in Budding Attraction he was Molly’s guard dog and I didn’t care for him much. Then in Employing Patience, he was on his own more and I loved his burgeoning friendship with Joey. And I liked him even more in this book. The poor guy had it bad for Keller, he was so in love with him and Keller was clueless. The unrequited love aspect tugged my heartstrings but also provided some comedy as poor Will found himself in some embarrassing situations.

I don’t take chances, I don’t make my life complicated, and yet Will’s the biggest complication I’ve faced, and I’m lying here wanting to face it head-on.

There was a bit of a slow burn, even after Keller learns of Will’s feelings, they’re still both hesitant to act on anything so they don’t hurt Molly. But when they do, oh boy, things get spicy! I would say this was the spiciest of the books in the series and many of their early interactions don’t even involve them touching one another! There were also plenty of sweet moments between them to balance the spice.

As always, I loved seeing all the other DMC guys, the group chats were hilarious. I’m going to miss this group of guys when the series comes to an end later this year!

“You know how I’m always saying that I listen to my gut?”

Will swallows thickly. “What’s it telling you about me?”

“That you’re the man I’ve been looking for.”
