Playing Games by Riley Hart

“I hate that I want you.”

“The feeling is completely mutual.”

What a fun and adorable opposites-attract story! Tyson Langley is the golden boy, a lacrosse star, from a wealthy family, and very popular. Braxton Walker is the bad boy, complete with a leather jacket and motorcycle, and prefers to keep to himself. On paper, these two should never have worked but despite their differences, they were drawn to one another and ended up being the absolute sweetest together. I was smiling like a fool for most of this one!

“Oh my God. Do not say something nice to me.”

I laughed. “Thank you, for stopping me before I did that. It would have been painful.”

“Not as painful as hearing it,” he replied, then… smiled, without trying to hide it. Fuck, Brax was sexy when he did that. “We are so weird.”

I loved the way they let each other in. Both guys were going through stuff and for whatever reason ended up confiding in each other about it. For all the flirting and games they played, I loved that their relationship had substance too. They were so supportive and helpful and I really believed how grateful they both were to have someone to share the burden with. I may have gotten misty-eyed a time or two while reading.

“You are the weirdest person I’ve ever met.”

I liked being the most of something to him, even if it was weird.

Ty and Brax had such amazing banter too. The teasing and flirting was so well done. Ty was very sunshiny and not even brooding Braxton could resist his charms for long. Seeing Brax’s defenses melting when he was around Ty was the best. They had amazing chemistry, the spice was very good. I also loved how ridiculous these two were. They would say or do something completely stupid or random and then immediately laugh and be like “I don’t know why I did that”. It was adorable and amusing and helped remind you that these were just silly college guys.

I had a lot of fun reading this book and I’m so glad I finally got around to reading it!

In a way I was still piecing together, Brax understood me, and maybe I understood him too.
