This book was completely unhinged but, like, in a fun way. It was very light on the plot, very light, but the basic premise is that Dr. Silas Sinclair gets a lap dance at a strip club he was dragged to. To his embarrassment, came in his pants, untouched, and then later found out that the stripper was a student and his new TA, Everly Winslow. The rest of the book is basically Silas trying to control his boners around Everly while becoming obsessed with the man (and Everly develops an obsession of his own) and them saying they’ll be professional, then promptly not being professional. That’s basically it, except for a few entertaining side characters and some completely insane scenarios they find themselves in. It was a wild ride but it made me laugh and there’s no shortage of spice – even if it felt like a little much after a while.
Why does the most handsome man I’ve ever met have to be a student here and my fucking TA? Life is laughing at me. Thinks I’m a fucking joke.
The internal ramblings of these characters were entertaining, particularly Silas’s. Although, he felt like a much younger character than he was supposed to be, in my opinion. If it weren’t for being reminded constantly of the age gap, I would have easily believed he was the same age as Everly. But still, I liked the guy. I liked Everly too, he lived to tempt Silas and it was fun to see the lengths he’d go to when trying to get Silas to cave. And I have to give props to the refractory periods of Cora Rose’s characters, there’s really nothing like it. I know it’s completely implausible but it still amuses me to no end that these guys can get hard again and again with just minutes in between.
Anyway, this was a quick, easy read. May not have been my favorite in the series, but it was still a good time.
