Method Acting by N.R. Walker

“There’s nothing wrong with knowing you’re hot.”

His grin was slow spreading. “You think I’m hot?”

“Everyone on this campus thinks you’re hot.”

“I don’t care about everyone on this campus. You,” he grinned at me. “You think I’m hot.”

I let out a long-suffering sigh. “You’re precariously close to entering full-of-yourself territory.”

Chase and Amos are very much opposites but they’re both acting students at FU and are cast as boyfriends in this semester’s production project. No problem, they may not like each other but they’re both professionals and it’s only acting. Except, the goal of the assignment is to teach method acting, and they’re supposed to be in characters 24/7. It’s not long before they start struggling to tell the difference between what their characters are feeling and what they’re feeling as Chase and Amos.

“I’m just going to assume that if you need less people time that does not include me. I’ll be quiet, I just don’t want you to be alone.”

“I like being alone.”

“And I like hanging with you, so can you see my conundrum?”

Ok, so I’m still super confused by the show that they were filming for this project. It’s meant to be a reality TV show, but they have characters (who are modeled after the actor playing them), and it’s sort of scripted. And everyone around the school gossiped about, recorded, and photographed these guys like they were actual celebrities. It was kind of weird. I mean, I could easily see how Chase and Amos could get things confused because I had no idea what was going on with that project for much of it.

He was like a koala bear with separation anxiety.

But all that aside, the love story between Chase and Amos was really cute. Chase had high golden retriever energy and Amos was the black cat but they worked well together. Chase was super clingy and Amos may have acted put out by it but he was secretly very fond of it and it was adorable. I like that both guys had had their eye on each other before being cast together in this project but neither of them acted on the attraction because they were so different. Even though I didn’t understand the show they were filming, I enjoyed the fake dating aspect. It’s always fun when they start to catch feelings in those scenarios!

“You know that game Kiss, Kill, or Fuck? Well, you’re all three for me, and I don’t even know how that’s possible.”
