A Baby for Christmas by Keira Andrews

He wasn’t allowed to crash back into my life and be so damn likable.

So damn kissable.

Jake, a single dad to his infant daughter, already feels like he’s in over his head most days. It gets even worse when he takes a wrong turn trying to get his daughter back home for her first holiday and winds up stranded on the side of the road with a blizzard closing in. Luckily, a handsome cowboy rides up on his horse and finds them in the nick of time. Cam can’t believe the guy he’s forced to invite back to his tiny cabin to ride out the storm is Jake, the guy who stabbed him in the back when they were in high school. While they are stuck together, will Cam be able to forgive Jake for what happened in the past and finally get the chance to act on the crush he’d always harbored on the man?

Forget presents under the tree—helping him felt like the greatest gift.

Single dad, cowboy, snowed in, forced proximity, only one bed, enemies to lovers – this book was chock full of the tropes I love. It’s a novella and it’s definitely insta-love but it was so sweet. Jake was a great dad and tried so hard to do the best for his daughter. But he was a new dad and I thought all of the new dad anxieties and worries were so well done. The poor gut was beyond stressed and quite lonely. Cam wasn’t sure what to make of the man before him now, he was so unlike the Jake he knew from before. Cam was justifiably angry with Jake over what happened but I loved seeing him soften toward him and finally become willing to hear him out. And of course, seeing Cam with the baby was just the cutest.

These two formed a strong bond in the few days they were stranded together and even if it wasn’t totally realistic for them to go all in right after, I still enjoyed it and loved seeing the little glimpse into their future in the epilogue. The book was light and fluffy with some nice heat, exactly what I’m looking for in a holiday romance!
