The Amazing Alpha Tau Pledge Project by Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey

“I am so straight,” he said, completely deadpan. “The straightest straight ever to straight. Lemme prove it. Football. Beer. Boobs. Um, monster trucks?” And then, impossibly, he grinned at me.

Oh. He was a sarcastic little shit.

Inappropriate crush intensifying.

It’s always a fun time hanging out with the Alpha Tau crew, and one of my favorite things about this book was seeing all the guys again. Marty was hilarious, as usual, and we had the added benefit of seeing him as dog dad in this one! Trey and Scout were featured heavily in this one, too, which I loved. And we even saw Archer, too. They’re such a fun group of characters, and I’m going to miss them when I’m finished.

This book is about Casey, the Alpha Tau pledge master and Marty’s roommate. I loved him. He was a sweetheart. He knew he was bisexual but had never really dated guys before. But when Briar Pendleton pledges Alpha Tau, Casey starts crushing hard. I loved the quiet way Casey chose to come out to his frat brothers; their reaction to his news was also very sweet. It was cute being in Casey’s head as he pursued Briar.

I thought this installment had a little more angst than the first two. It wasn’t crazy angsty, but Briar had a lot of secrets that resulted in some tumultuous times. Briar was very prickly and ran hot and cold. I liked it when he showed his softer side, and I loved it when he was confident enough to be true to himself in his clothing and makeup choices. Casey loved it too! The spicy scenes were very good! But then Briar would go cold and pull away, and Casey never knew why. Being that the book was told from Casey’s POV, it was hard to get a read on Briar. But we find out everything eventually, and I ended up really liking Briar by the end.
