Kiss-Fist by Cora Rose & E.M. Lindsey

Fuck, he’s so precious. He’s the last man in the world I expected to fall for, but here I am, practically head over heels. I can’t get enough of him, and it’s in this moment I know I’m willing to compromise on things I never have before. For him. Only for him.

Because he’s entirely worth it.

Grumpy professor Robbie would be happy to never work out a day in his life, but despite his protests, he allows his friends to convince him to join the local gym. Once he gets there, it’s worse than he ever imagined because Thom, the trainer he gets paired with, is completely adorable and charming, and he turns Robbie on like no one else ever has. But Thom is hearing, and Robbie is Deaf, and he’s got a hard and fast rule that he’ll never date a hearing person. The longer he spends with him, though, the more he wavers on this rule. Especially when Thom is so eager and committed to learning Robbie’s language. Thom makes it clear that Robbie is worth the effort, which in turn makes Robbie think that Thom is worth bending his own rules for.

When this book was announced, I was curious how the writing styles of these two authors would blend because I’ve read books from both, and their styles are quite different. But I thought they blended well! I really enjoyed this start to the new series. Robbie and Thom were so cute together. Robbie was a little grumpy, but it didn’t last long where Thom was concerned; it’s hard to be grumpy around someone as sweet and sunny as Thom was. He was a total sweetheart, and I loved how determined he was to learn Robbie’s language so it would make it easier for them to be together. He was so kind and considerate, I absolutely loved his character, and I loved seeing Robbie soften toward him and let him further into his life.

The main plot and source of conflict was simply the language barrier and cultural differences between a hearing person and a Deaf person. I thought it was interesting to learn the differences and to see how these men worked to bridge the gap. Robbie’s ADHD and dyslexia added an additional challenge, but he was not deterred; he wanted so badly to be good enough to be with Robbie. It really was so sweet. I also enjoyed their sexual chemistry; they were very hot together! Much of their early relationship centered around the physical aspects, but over time, their connection deepened as real feelings developed. There was a teeny bit of angst along the way, but despite the language barrier, these two had really great communication, so the angst never lasted long.

This was a fun read, and I look forward to what’s next!

Years from now, he won’t ever feel like he doesn’t belong. He’ll have a Deaf heart.

My heart.
