I’ve created a new life for myself out here, and I’ll protect Wilde’s End with everything that I have.
This was such a fun start to the new series. The town of Wilde’s End was very intriguing. I loved learning more about it and seeing how things worked, and meeting the various residents. It’s quite the interesting cast of characters, and it’s made me very eager to find out more about them in upcoming books. This is definitely going to be a fun world to hang around in as the series goes on. Wilde’s story was the perfect way to start things off. I enjoyed seeing him meet his match when Hudson turned up!
“You’re the last person I want to do this with.”
“Right back at you, city boy.”
“So why won’t my dick get the message?”
Hudson and Wilde were peak enemies to lovers! They fought it hard and barely liked each other for quite some time, but neither of them could walk away from the crazy chemistry between them. These two were so stubborn, which meant a lot of back and forth between them as they fought to gain the upper hand over each other. Hudson’s presence in Wilde’s End puts everything Wilde and the other Wenders have built at risk, so naturally Wilde wants him gone. But everything Hudson has is wrapped up in this new venture, and if he fails, his and his brothers’ lives would be ruined. The stakes couldn’t have been higher for any of them, and the way they clashed over it was so believable and so much fun to read.
Hudson is a complication I didn’t see coming. A twisted, confusing complication.
But as I mentioned, Wilde and Hudson had an intense physical attraction, despite hating each other, that they found hard to deny. If you enjoy some good hate sex, these guys have got you covered! I liked that even as they started to soften toward one another and bond a little, they never quite lost that antagonistic edge. I think they were both too damaged from their pasts to suddenly morph into sunshine and rainbows. There were certainly sweet moments toward the end, but it was their own special brand of sweetness. I hope we get to see their relationship grow even more over the course of this series. Either way, I’m looking forward to my next trip to Wilde’s End!
There’s fire burning in his soul that draws me in, and I can’t stay away. Not from his teasing or his laughter or his determination to succeed even in the things I don’t want him to. That fire burns so brightly I swear I feel it inside me sometimes, and if Hudson can bring even my dead soul back to life, he’s worth everything.
