Merry and Bright by N.R. Walker

I didn’t know I could need someone like I needed him.

It was different from the way I needed my family.

It made my heart feel too big and happy.

OMG, this book was the cutest thing! I love this whole series and was so excited to read the newest addition. It was great catching up with all the characters from the earlier books, and of course, being in Hartbridge at Christmas was just as magical as ever. But oh gosh, Winter and Deacon were the absolute sweetest. I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time I read this. It made me giddy and gave me all the good vibes I was hoping for when I picked it up.

Winter was asexual, and Deacon was autistic and didn’t like being touched, so there was zero spice in this book, but I didn’t miss it one bit. In fact, there was hardly any touching at all, but the tiny little moments we did get were pure swoon and so romantic. Who knew that a sleeve tug would melt me into a puddle? It was just so wholesome and lovely.

I loved the way these two communicated. It took a few tries to figure it out, but once they started understanding each other better, they were so open and honest. Of course, they’d often find themselves spiraling or overthinking something, but I loved that they’d ultimately call or visit the other and resolve whatever it was. There really was no angst to speak of, but that was just fine by me. I was too busy enjoying how adorable these two were together. There were also the cutest little kittens who added another layer of adorableness to the whole thing. If you’re a fan of this series or just looking for a sweet holiday romance, you’ll definitely want to read this!

I didn’t care what society might think of us.

I didn’t care what other couples thought of our minimal-contact, sexless lives.

We were happy. And we were complete. Nothing was missing. Nothing was lacking.
