Last First Kiss by Julian Winters

This was cute. It was a little bit of a second-chance romance and a lot of self-discovery, which I enjoyed. The story follows Jordan Carter, an event planner in Atlanta, as he plans a high-profile wedding while trying to navigate the fact that the man-of-honor is Jamie Peters, the only person he’s ever truly felt a romantic connection with. And the person who told Jordan he wasn’t the “right” guy for him only a few months earlier.

I thought Jordan and Jamie were adorable together. I enjoyed the few flashbacks we got, especially because the scenes with the two of them together in the present timeline were sparse at times. I liked all the scenes we did get with them together, but there were long stretches where the focus was on the wedding, Jordan’s career, or Jordan’s feud with Javi. All of those things were interesting, but I would have loved more on-page moments between Jordan and Jamie. Especially since the whole book is Jordan’s POV, so I felt like I didn’t get to know Jamie quite as well. I did love that Jamie was described as having border collie energy, though. As a border collie owner myself, I could easily picture what that meant!

A big part of the story was Jordan’s journey as he worked to figure out his sexuality. I thought this part was handled well, and I was glad he had the support and resources to help him along the journey.

Overall, I thought this was an enjoyable read and makes me want to go back and read the first book in the series!
