Finn can’t be both my dream man in person and the nice guy distracting me from said dream man … can he?
I thought this book was so much fun. I loved the premise, and the execution was done so well. I had a hard time putting it down! Finn has moved to Canada, where his sister moved to be with her fiancé. When Finn’s not busy helping his sister plan her wedding and searching for a new job in Canada, he enjoys unwinding by watching his favorite cam boy, Gunner, on the popular Money Shot app. Never in a million years could he have expected that Gunner, the man who’s helped Finn feel not as lonely for the last year, is none other than the best friend of his future brother-in-law.
I loved how flirty Finn and Curtis were from their very first meeting, before Finn even realized Curtis was Gunner. They were both openly attracted to one another but were reluctant to act on it, fearing a messy situation with the wedding coming up. Plus, Curtis was adamant from the very start that he wasn’t looking for a relationship. I love some good pining, and it’s even better when they’re openly pining; it led to some really great flirty banter.
Things get extra fun, though, when Finn discovers that Curtis was Gunner. I won’t spoil anything, but I loved how everything played out here—especially the fun messaging exchanges between them. And there were a few things that happened that I wasn’t expecting but really enjoyed!
“I’ve tried to push you away so many times, but you were always there. Quietly fighting for this. I’ve … never had that before.”
For the most part, this book was light and lower angst, with plenty of heat and so many charming and funny moments. But there were also some more serious themes in there, too. Mostly surrounding Curtis’s mother figure, Beth. This plot line tugged at my heartstrings and made me tear up a time or two. There was also a little bit of angst in the later parts of the book; they don’t last too long, but it hurt a little while I was in the middle of it.
Overall, though, this was another great co-write from Eden and Saxon. I enjoyed every minute of it!
“I’ll always be your number one fan.” I swipe my thumb over his jaw. “Have been since before we even met.”
