A late entry to my Christmas romance binge but this book was a pure delight! Harmony Knight was a new-to-me author and I stumbled upon this book just perusing Kindle Unlimited books and it sounded like a fun read to finish off the holiday season so I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did because it was such a cute story – it was funny, sweet, and sexy. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Greyson Blair, a slick CEO from the big city, shows up in a small town in upstate NY to fix up and flip an old mansion that he inherited. He wants to get in, fix-up the place quickly, and get out. What he doesn’t bank on is Allie Brooks turning his world upside down Diner waitress and the only hired help in town, Allie is a breath of fresh air for Greyson and it doesn’t take him long to start imaging what his future may look like if he sticks around.
Right from their meet-cute of Greyson coming into Allie’s diner and her taking a dare to pretend she’s French, this book had me laughing out loud. It was never over the top but just organically funny, which I really liked. Allie was a hard-working, down-to-earth woman doing her best to make ends meet for her and her daughters and she was the picture of small-town kindness and goodness. I love how she balanced Greyson’s big-city ways. She brought out a kinder, more caring, side to him and I thought they were just so sweet. Of course, there was a bit of drama but I even enjoyed that! Especially when the resolution involved a little Christmas magic!
Overall, I was very pleased with this find. It was the perfect little Christmas story to finish off my holiday binge – and I found a new author who I’d definitely be interested in reading more from!
