The No-Show by Beth O’Leary

Siobhan, Miranda, and Jane are strangers to one another but they all have something in common – they were all stood up on Valentine’s Day and they’ve all been stood up by the same guy. Each of them has to figure out whether to take Joseph Carter’s excuses at face value and whether or not to give him another chance. Joseph easily charms each of them and there’s a very real chance that these three women are going to fall in love with him. But is he really a cad with three women on the hook or is there more to the story than meets the eye?

I randomly picked this up at the bookstore a few weeks ago because it was offered in a buy one get one half off paperback deal. The blurb intrigued me and I really wanted to know what this guy’s deal was. The book alternates between POVs of the three women and it was really fascinating trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Joseph seemed like such a great guy yet I was very wary of him thinking he was a three-timing womanizer. I can’t really say much more about the story because there’s a HUGE twist and one I never expected and I don’t want to spoil anything. I thought the twist was very clever and makes you look back at the previous chapters in an entirely new light. I know this is a pretty short review and doesn’t tell you much but it’s best to go into this one with as little info as possible. It was a really entertaining read, though, and I’m glad I stumbled upon it!
