He was so charming and endearing, something I hadn’t expected… or hell, maybe I had. Maybe that’s why I didn’t tell him to leave me the hell alone months ago.
Parker Hansley is known as The Romantic to the listeners of the podcast he hosts with his three best friends. He’s looking for love and romance but his search for Mr. Right hasn’t exactly worked out so far – his awful dating history is proof of that. He seems to attract all the jerks and he’s pretty sure Elliott Delgado Weaver falls in that category. Elliott has been showing up and flirting with Parker for nearly a year even though Parker continually turns him down.
When they cross paths in Vegas, Parker agrees to hang out with him but he doesn’t plan on getting blackout drunk and waking up married to Elliott! Word gets out before they can figure out what to do and rather than letting their parents down, they opt to stay married for 6 months before amicably divorcing. The surprise marriage may not be what Parker envisioned for himself, but Elliott may turn out to be the hero in Parker’s very own love story.
I couldn’t do this. I couldn’t fall for Elliott. I couldn’t fall for my husband.
It’s not real, it’s not real, it’s not real.
True to its title, this book was super romantic! Their wedding may have been a mistake and Elliott may not have ever thought he’d want a romantic relationship with anyone, but he was incredible at showering Parker with love and affection. I wasn’t sure what to think of him when he kept turning up in The Loner, but he really had a big heart and treated Parker so well.
I was a little sad for Parker when he realized they were married. He had spent so long dreaming of the perfect engagement and wedding and one drunken mistake took that from him. It may seem silly to some, but it meant a lot to Parker, so it made me quite happy to see Elliott basically worship him and go above and beyond to give Parker the romance he craved. They were sweet together and things got spicy quickly, Elliott discovering Parker’s praise kink was fun.
There was a little bit of angst near the end, but it wasn’t too bad. The ending was so cute though, the perfect happy ending for our romance-loving Parker! There were also many great scenes with all the Vers guys, I love their friendship so much!
This fucking man tied me in knots in ways no one else ever had, and he didn’t even know it.
