A Holiday Lift by Corinne Michaels

“I’m going to make you love Christmas again, Holls. I’m going to show you that Santa, snow, the music, and all things are full of joy.”

I love this time of year when I get to binge on loads of feel-good holiday romances! And if there ever was a year where we could use the extra cheer, it’s 2020! Up first in my holiday reading – A Holiday Lift from Corinne Michaels. I never read the original short story when it was released last year so the whole thing was new to me. Good news for those who may have read it last year – there is a whole handful of new chapters tacked onto the end for your reading enjoyment!

Holly used to love the holidays but the past few holidays haven’t been kind to her and now she’d just rather forget about them. Tacking onto her string of bad luck, she finds herself stuck in an elevator with her co-worker/rival and recent one night stand, Dean Pritchard. After their night together, Holly thought maybe her luck was turning around but then he never called her and ignored her at the office, making him the last person she wants to be stuck in a broken-down elevator with. But it’s possible that she read Dean all wrong. It may take a little help from Santa but will he be the one to get Holly to believe in the magic of the season again?

I thought this was a fun and sweet little novella! It was a cute love story with just the right amount of holiday magic sprinkled in. The original story was short and sweet and the added content was like a fun bonus epilogue. Dean went out of his way to restore Holly’s faith in the holiday season and he proved to be quite the romantic! You won’t need a lot of time to make your way through this one, it’s the perfect story to snuggle up with one of these evenings. And I look forward to watching it come to life as a Passionflix quickie, coming soon!
