Foolish Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James

He subtly shakes his head. “I didn’t expect you.”

I smile. “I’ve never been so thankful my friends are idiots who tried to set fire to my backyard.”

“Technically, they did set fire to it.”

Here we are at the last of the Puckboys (for now, it sounds like there’ll be more coming) and I think it was my favorite so far! Up to now, Tripp and Dex from Irresponsible Puckboy have been my favorite but in came Aleks and Gabe and knocked them off the top spot. It may have helped that Aleks plays for Seattle, which happens to be my favorite real-life NHL team. And I loved that Gabe wasn’t a hockey fan until he saw a pretty face (Aleks) on the team and suddenly started to be interested in the sport. That’s basically my hockey fan origin story, so I could really relate to Gabe!

I want more.

More of him.

More of us.

I just want … more.

Despite the fact that I related on a personal level with some of the things in this story, overall it was just a very entertaining story. Aleks and Gabe had such great chemistry right from their hilarious meet-cute (that Queer Collective never fails to make me chuckle, I just love those guys!). I thought this was the most romantic of the 4 books in this series. Their dates were so swoon-worthy, my stomach swooped several times with how romantic some of the scenes were. It was also quite funny. All the teasing over Gabe’s reluctance to admit he actually might like hockey made me laugh. Of course, it was also very steamy. I love when one character has all the experience and ends up teaching the other character, it’s such a fun dynamic and let’s just say that Aleks was a very good student! There was the teensiest bit of angst but it was resolved fairly quickly and I thought these guys communicated quite well.

This whole series has been so much fun to read. The author’s note at the end made it sound like there’ll be more Queer Collective coming our way in the future and I really hope that’s the case because these boys are fantastic! There’s definitely more trouble they can get up to. I was excited to see that there’s a spin-off (non-hockey) book coming up for one of the side characters in this one, you can bet I’ll be reading it as soon as it’s released! For now, though, if you’re a fan of hockey romances, you need to put this series high on your list!

His soft laugh brushes my lips. “How didn’t you run that night?”

“I did.” Our eyes clash. “Right to you.”
