Don’t Fall by E.M. Lindsey

“You gave me someone to fight. And then, when I actually pulled my head out of my ass, I realized you were actually giving me something to fight for.”

It was exciting to learn of a new E.M. Lindsey series, and I really enjoyed the first book and introduction to this new group of characters. I assume the series will revolve around the group of guys who work at the fire station North worked at. There were several intriguing storylines hinted at in this book. I look forward to the forthcoming books!

North and Leo had a very contentious relationship when the book starts. A whole heap of misunderstandings had them both convinced the other man hated them. All of the misunderstandings and lack of communication were a little frustrating, but I think that was the point. Once these two figure themselves out, though, they were so sweet together. They had such tenderness between them. It was really quite lovely.

North was dealing with a lot with his family, and had been his entire life. And Leo was dealing with the lasting effects of a TBI he suffered a few years earlier. I loved how supportive and understanding they were of each other (once they got past the hating-each-other stage). The patience and mutual respect were great to see. They made a good pair.

If you read this and are feeling frustrated by the early chapters, stick with it because the payoff is very much worth it!
